Classic car sales, seen from the workshop
Since 2017, our Mougins workshop has restored, maintained and prepared classic and modern cars from the great marques. Our classic car sales rest on the same expertise: a car is never judged on its photographs, but on the lift, with the engine running and the invoices in hand.
There are four ways to work with us: choose a car from the collection for sale; entrust your own car to us for part-exchange or consignment; ask us to find the car you have in mind; or have a car prepared before you sell it. In every case, what we know is written down, and what we do not know is said.
How do you buy a classic car with your eyes open?
Every car in the collection is chosen individually, examined on the lift and prepared in the workshop before it is offered. It is shown as it is: its condition, what is known of its history, and what remains to be done when something does.
You can see it in Mougins during opening hours, preferably by appointment. If you are abroad, we send detailed photographs and a video, including the areas that are rarely shown: the underside, the engine bay, the luggage compartment beneath its trim. For some cars the price is given on request, together with the available history.
Pre-purchase inspection, on the lift
A car from the collection, or a car found on your behalf, goes through the same examination that precedes a mechanical diagnosis in the workshop. The aim is simple: that you know exactly what you are buying, including whatever counts against the car.
Numbers are never assumed: whether they match the documents is checked, and if a part is not original, we tell you.
- Mechanics: engine, gearbox, clutch, brakes, suspension, leaks, and a road test when the car can be driven.
- Bodywork: panel gaps, signs of previous repair, quality of the paint.
- Corrosion: sills, floor pans, wheel arches, mounting points, areas hidden behind the trim.
- History: invoices, service book, consistency between dates, mileage and the work claimed.
- Identity: chassis, engine and gearbox numbers to be compared with the paperwork.
Selling your classic car: part-exchange or consignment
Would you like to sell your car, or trade it towards another? The workshop offers part-exchange and consignment sale, always after the car has been examined at the workshop. In a part-exchange, the workshop buys the car; on consignment, it remains yours and joins the collection, presented with the same candour as every other car.
No figure is put forward before we have seen the car. The examination tells you what, in our view, deserves attention before the sale, and what can be left as it is.
Preparing a car for sale
A well-prepared car presents better and sells with fewer questions. Depending on its condition, preparation may range from a simple service to a mechanical recommissioning, new upholstery and trim or bodywork touch-ups.
Each item is quoted in detail, and nothing is undertaken without your approval. The invoices join the car’s file: for a buyer, a clear history matters as much as the car’s condition on the day.
A classic car finder service, on request
Are you looking for a particular model, colour, specification, a manual gearbox or a documented history? Describe it to us. The search is carried out on request and on quotation. When a car fits, it is examined before you commit, and if it does not match its description, we say so.
To begin, a quote request is enough: tell us the model, the years that interest you and what matters most to you.
Reservation, paperwork and delivery across Europe
A car is reserved only once the workshop has confirmed it in writing; until then, it remains available. The car’s French documents are handed over at the sale: registration certificate, certificate of administrative status and roadworthiness test where required. Registration outside France then follows the rules of your own country.
The car can be collected from the workshop or delivered in France and across Europe on request, through transport arranged by the workshop, with the terms set out in writing before any departure. Our European clients deal directly with the owner of the business, in French, English, Russian or Arabic.
