01
A first opinion, from afar.
It all begins with photographs and a few videos: the bodywork, the interior, the engine running. A call or a WhatsApp exchange completes the picture.
A detailed quote then reaches you. It is confirmed once the car has been inspected at the workshop, before anything is committed.
02
The journey to Mougins.
From Paris as from Brittany, Alsace or the South West, transport is arranged on request, there and back. A car that no longer runs is loaded with the right equipment. The terms are set out in writing before each departure.
Between regions there are no particular formalities: the car travels with its registration certificate. If it is already on the Riviera, see the French Riviera page.
03
The collector’s registration.
In France, a car more than thirty years old can, as a rule, be registered as a collector’s vehicle, the « carte grise collection ». Roadworthiness tests are then less frequent, and the car’s original condition takes on its full weight.
A restoration faithful to the period colours, materials and mechanics works in that direction. The conditions are set out in our answers on classic car paperwork; the ANTS, the French agency for official documents, remains the reference.
04
Every craft, under one roof.
Full restoration, mechanics, bodywork and paint, upholstery, bespoke builds: the car never changes workshop from one craft to the next.
The full restoration of the Mercedes-Benz 220 SEb Cabriolet gives the measure: bodyshell stripped bare then lacquered in ivory, six-cylinder engine and Bosch mechanical injection rebuilt, red leather upholstery.
A modern car, a latest-generation Porsche or Ferrari, receives the same care, for a service as for a repair. The workshop also offers storage, part-exchange and sale on consignment.
05
Followed from home.
Photographs of every stage reach you as the work progresses. You deal directly with the owner of the workshop, by phone or on WhatsApp, with no intermediary.
On return, the invoice details every task. It joins the car’s history file.
Your questions
Does the car need to run to be transported?
No. A car that no longer runs is loaded with the right equipment. Simply mention it in your transport request.
Can a restoration prepare a car for collector’s registration?
A restoration faithful to the original respects the car’s characteristics, which is what collector’s registration expects. The formalities themselves are a matter for the ANTS.
Can I collect the car from the workshop?
Yes, by appointment, Monday to Saturday. The car can also be returned to your door, by the same transport as on the way down.
What should I send for a first quote?
Photographs of the bodywork, the interior and the engine bay, a video of the engine running if possible, and a few words on the work you have in mind. Old invoices and the car’s history help too.
